What Voltpony is

Voltpony is an independent, unofficial companion app for the Ford Mustang Mach-E. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Ford Motor Company. “Ford”, “Mustang”, “Mach-E” and “FordPass” are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe compatibility.

Account risk — read this one

Voltpony uses the same interfaces the official app uses. Ford has, in documented cases, restricted accounts for unofficial API use.You accept that risk when you use this app. You are strongly advised to sign in with a secondary Ford account added to your vehicle as a driver, rather than your primary account.

I cannot restore, appeal or influence a restricted Ford account, and I am not liable for loss of access to Ford services.

Vehicle commands

The app can lock, unlock and start cabin preconditioning. You are responsible for using these safely and lawfully — including not unlocking a vehicle you are not authorised to access, and not starting preconditioning where exhaust or noise would be a hazard. Commands are delivered over the internet to Ford's systems and may be delayed, reordered, or fail entirely. Never rely on this app in an emergency or in any safety-critical situation.

Ford can change or block this at any time

Voltpony depends on interfaces operated by Ford for its own applications. Those interfaces are not public, not documented for third parties, and carry no commitment to anyone.Ford may change, restrict or discontinue them at any time, without notice. If that happens, features may stop working or the app may stop functioning entirely, possibly permanently.

No guarantee of continued operation is offered or implied. Do not rely on Voltpony for anything that matters, and do not make a purchase decision on the assumption that it will keep working.

Accuracy

Range, charge and location figures come from your vehicle via Ford and are estimates. They can be stale, wrong, or unavailable. Don't plan anything you can't afford to get wrong around them.

Beta software

TestFlight builds are pre-release and may contain defects. Beta builds expire and features may change or be removed.

No warranty

Voltpony is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any damages arising from your use of it — including loss of vehicle access, loss of Ford account access, or any incidental or consequential damages.

Cost

The app is free. There is no subscription and no in-app purchase. If that ever changes, existing users will be told before it does.
